To promote and support the use of the Cambodian Riel (KHR) currency, in accordance with the instructions on promoting the use of Riel for payment services within the Kingdom of Cambodia, dated September 17, 2024, and October 14, 2025, issued by the National Bank of Cambodia, Woori Bank (Cambodia) is pleased to inform all customers that in the near future,
- Customers who do not yet have a Khmer Riel (KHR) account will have an account opened for them automatically and free of charge, excluding inactive and dormant accounts.
- Merchants who already have a KHR account but have not yet linked it to their QR code will be automatically linked. Merchants with only a US Dollar (USD) account will be provided with a Khmer Riel (KHR) account and have it linked to their QR code automatically and free of charge, excluding inactive merchants.
Customers who do not have a KHR account or have not completed the KHR account opening may experience a temporary suspension or disabled access to their mobile banking/payment services until the customer completes the opening of the KHR account.

- Receive higher interest.
- Free account opening (no service charges or account maintenance fees).
- No initial deposit required.
- Interest is calculated daily and credited monthly.
Based on the information provided above, all customers and the public are requested to be informed and to cooperate in promoting the wider use of the Riel currency in Cambodia.
